Schâdi brings with her highly relevant academic, research and project management experience in the Middle East. Adding to an M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, she has five years of field research experience in the context of the evolving conflict in Syria.
She has managed in-country teams researching a range of topics, including the development of governing and security and justice institutions in areas out of government control in Syria, civil society development, conflict dynamics and post-ISIL liberated community dynamics. This research has been used at the local level to inform individual programming and interventions as well as by donor countries to inform policy. Schâdi is also fluent in English, Arabic, French and Spanish.
At IDMC, Schâdi leads P&R's country research portfolio, including the further development of IDMC's country pages and building local research networks, the IDUs and GRID country analysis and spotlights.
