Profile of Internal Displacement: Bosnia and Herzegovina
Nine years after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, there are still some 310,000 people internally displaced in Bosnia and Herzegovina. One million internally displaced people (IDPs) and refugees have returned to their homes since the end of the conflict in 1995, representing half of those displaced during the war. But state institutions are still divided along ethnic lines and the political debate is dominated by ethnic issues.
