UPR Submission Sri Lanka 2008

At least 480,000 people are currently internally displaced in Sri Lanka due to the conflict between government forces and the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Historical divisions between the Sinhalese majority and Tamil minority in Sri Lanka have led to the 25-year civil war, which has caused 70,000 deaths and the large-scale displacement.
