Sudan: Profile of Internal Displacement

Over half a million people have been displaced in Sudan, aggravating the world's largest internal displacement crisis despite a peace deal signed last year. Since January 2002, some 550,000 Sudanese fled attacks by the Khartoum government in southern oil-rich regions, and at least 30,000 more fled fighting between government and rebel groups.
