Internally Displaced Persons in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

The present situation of internal displacement in the Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC) is a result of events which started in the early 1990s when political instability
accompanied by inter-ethnic rivalry in the central and eastern regions caused several
hundreds of thousands of people to become displaced and/or forced to resettle.
