Dr Chaloka Beyani: "The right to adequate housing allows IDPs to get back their dignity and begin rebuilding shattered lives"

With keynote speeches from Dr. Chaloka Beyani, the special rapporteur on the human rights of IDPs, and Jackie Keegan, head of UNHCR’s comprehensive solutions unit, the event highlighted the importance of addressing the issue of urban displacement in a sustainable manner.

“The report contributes to filling a gap on urban displacement as it gathers the scattered knowledge on what has been done in support of durable housing solutions for IDPs and identifies examples of good practices”, said Beyani.
