IDMC and Refugees International share concerns and recommendations at the UPR outcome of DRC
Our Analyst, Melanie Kesmaecker-Wissing, spoke at the UN Human Rights Council, on behalf of IDMC and Refugees International, reacting to the UPR outcome. The joint statement highlighted the scale of internal displacement and the dire situation of IDPs. IDMC and Refugees International welcomed the start of the ratification process of the Kampala Convention by DRC and encouraged the government to fulfil its responsibility in preventing displacement, responding to the needs of IDPs and ensuring adequate living conditions for IDPs.
