Workshop on durable solutions in Mali

Mali is now at a crossroads:  during the transition period between humanitarian and development displacement trends are complex and require the close collaboration of national authorities, donors, and humanitarian and development actors. Responding to IDPs and former IDPs specific needs is key to avoid a protracted situations that will put a strain on peace-building efforts and on the future development of the country.

In this context, in February 2014 IDMC organized a participatory workshop on durable solutions in Bamako to support the development of a national durable solutions strategy in Mali. The two- day event gathered national and international professionals from both humanitarian and development sectors. At the outcome of the workshop the participants developed 10 recommendations for the future strategy that were submitted to the working task force on durable solutions.
