Terms of use

The following terms of use apply to the IDMC website and digital products.

Accuracy and liability

IDMC considers the information about our work and the internal displacement situation in general on our own websites as reliable. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee that the information is correct, complete or available at all times. IDMC thus assumes no liability for errors and omissions on, or lack of availability of, our websites. Further, IDMC assumes no liability for the material prepared or published by third parties, even if our websites contain links to other websites.

Using our content

Unless specified otherwise in particular terms of use, anyone may reproduce, distribute, adapt, translate and publicly perform the content on this website, without explicit permission, provided that the content is accompanied by an acknowledgement that IDMC is the source (a hyperlink back to www.internal-displacement.org would be appreciated) and that it is clearly indicated if changes were made to the original content. This is in line with the Creative Commons – Attribution (BY) 3.0 IGO – license.

The user must not distort, mutilate, modify or take other action in relation to the content published on this site that would be prejudicial to the reputation of IDMC. Adaptations/translations/derivatives should not carry any IDMC official emblem or logo, and the user may not implicitly or explicitly imply any sponsorship or endorsement by IDMC without the express prior written permission of IDMC.

Disclaimer on maps

The designations employed and the presentation of material on maps displayed by IDMC on its website do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the IDMC concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area or of its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries.

Accessibility

IDMC’s aim is to achieve an accessible site based on the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Data visualisation and interactive interfaces present particular accessibility challenges, in particular where complex, multi-layered data sets are involved. Whilst not all data visualisations and interfaces on the IDMC website are accessible, we are committed to finding solutions to these issues wherever possible.
